Christmas Light-up for FPS & the Community

A huge ‘thank you’ to Matthew and Elaine Denton, pictured  with their dog Calvin, for choosing Fleet Pond Society as the beneficiary of the annual Christmas light-up of their home. Their fantastic display raised a phenomenal £1,167.67.

This generous act is one which the Denton family has done for the past 30 years, and many local charities have benefitted. Sadly one evening this December, the FPS collecting bucket was stolen, an act which devastated the family. The theft was reported by the local press.

Mr Denton said of the theft: “I do it for everybody to enjoy and it just puts a downer on it. It’s not in the Christmas spirit and you do not expect people to do that.”

The lighting display brought a great deal of joy to visitors over the Christmas period. We were absolutely delighted that the Denton’s picked FPS as the beneficiary this year, and we thank all those who contributed to the fundraising either by cash or online donations.

Mrs Denton is pictured left receiving a Fleet Pond Society official ‘Thank you’ certificate from FPS Secretary, Frances Bonnington.
