David Pottinger writes:

David Buckler, a Committee Member of Fleet Pond Society, is currently carrying out a survey for the Amphibian and Reptile Group (ARG).

As part of this, David would be interested to hear of any adder sightings at Fleet Pond, especially during March/April. There is a concern that there may be a decline in numbers.

Please contact David directly on this subject (no need to leave a comment below), his email address is: david.buckler@talktalk.net

Many thanks for your assistance.

  1. Lions View is a superb new faciliy for pond lovers, it is esily accessible for disabled scooters I have spent several hours sitting in the sun this last week. It is my favourite spot in Fleet. Today Thursday 17/4/2014, I watched two(possibly three) Lapwings, both on the wing and on the ground immediately in front of the platform. I also saw two common terns opposite the station car park. Both sights quite a thrill for me.

    1. Hi Graham

Many thanks for leaving a comment, it’s greatly appreciated. We’re delighted that you really like the new viewpoint and I’ve brought your kind words and observations to the attention of the FPS Committee.
